Perle offers a very finely worded argument for a very bad idea. Unilateralism in counter to human progress. McWorld, man, that's where we're headed. One nation under a groove, getting down just for the funk of it. We are fast becoming one world, with enhanced information and communication technology, multinational corporations and conglomerates. If we ever want our flying cars, we humans need to pool our resources. I don't know about you, but I'd like my spawn, a few generations down the line, to be casting their votes for "President of the World." The UN, EU and AU are all steps in this direction. Going it alone in Iraq would be a step back, not to mention a dangerous precident. China might want Taiwan back someday...
